Thunder Volleyball Sweeps Oak Hills and Spurgeon

Manhattan, KS - In this season's home opening matches, the Lady Thunder were unstoppable and swept Oak Hills Christian College and Spurgeon College. "It was an exciting day of volleyball, we had some great plays and serves. Being able to get all our athletes some playing time to fun as well." said Coach Sanders. 

While all of our offensive players were hot on the day, kill leaders were junior outside hitter Katelynn Halstead with 8 against Oak Hills and Spurgeon and sophomore middle hitter Brenna Flax with 5 against Oak HIlls and 9 against Spurgeon. The team definitely picked up their serving game with 16 aces against Oak Hills and 19 against Spurgeon. Junior outside hitter Grace Marozas has the most for the day with 11 total aces. Sophomore setter Elise Corbett led the offense well, with great play choices, and totaled 49 assists.

The Lady Thunder will travel to Haviland, KS to play Barclay College on Tuesday, September 15 and Ankeny, IA to play Faith Baptist Bible College on Friday, September 18.
