Volleyball Up; Men's Soccer Steady in Final NCCAA Power Rating

Manhattan, KS - Good things are happening for the Thunder ahead of the NCCAA SW Region Tournaments this weekend. The Men's Soccer team held firm at #3 in the final edition of the NCCAA power rating while the ladies on the court moved up one spot to #2 nationally. The men's soccer team is heading to Overland Park, KS as the #1 overall seed at the region tournament where they will take on the host, #4, Kansas Christian College in the semifinals on Thursday at 10:30 am. The Falcons of KCC have knocked MCC out of the region tournament each of the last 3 seasons, but the Thunder may have changed their fortunes with a 3-0 victory earlier in the season. Should MCC beat Kansas Christian on Thursday they will play for the region title on Friday, 11/6, at 12:00 pm.

On the court, the Lady Thunder volleyball team have had an impressive season. Only dropping one set in NCCAA play on the year, the team cruised to both a regular season conference title and a tournament title enroute to 16-2 overall record. This impressive run has resulted in the #1 overall seed at the NCCAA SW Region Tournament to be held in Arlington, Tx on Thursday, 11/5, and Friday, 11/6. MCC awaits the winner of the #5, Barclay College, vs #4 Arlington Baptist University play in match. Should the Thunder win in the semifinals they would advance to a region championship match on Friday.
