Thunder Sweep Last Match in City Auditorium

Manhattan, KS - In the final home match in the City Auditorium, the Lady Thunder swept the Union College Warriors! It was an exciting match with a great crowd on hand! MCC put down 43 kills, 10 aces and defensively totaled 55 digs and 2 blocks. All of the Lady Thunder were able to see court time. The offense was led by the two sophomore outside hitters. Karly Gibbs finished with 16 kills and .400 attacking percentage and Katherine Simon finished with 10 kills and a .304 attack percentage. With a lineup for the night, setter Tess Eblin dished out 33 assists and libero Mary Francis McNellis had 23 digs. Four Thunder players each had two aces, Greta Hinderliter, Janel Dormire, Emily Wilson and Tess Eblin. 

Thunder athletics have had a rich history in the City Auditorium as it has been the only "Home" court ever used by MCC, however the entire campus is buzzing with excitement over the opening of the new Thunder home court, the Howie's Activity Center. 

MCC Volleyball will start practicing this next week in the Activity Center and will host the first athletic contest on the MCC campus on Friday, September 15. MCC will host Barclay College and Emmaus Bible College in a tri-match. MCC will play Barclay at 3:00pm and Emmaus at 7:00pm.
