Lady Thunder Open Season on the Road

Omaha, NE - The Lady Thunder opened the season with a road game against Grace University (NCCAA Div I), in Omaha, NE. The match was hard fought and lasted 5 sets, but the young Thunder squad could not pull out the win. After the match Coach Sanders said, "I was pleased with how we played for most of the match. We definitely saw a few areas, like reducing our serving errors, that we need to continue working on. But for our first match and only having about 9 practices, it was a good start!"

Sophomore outside hitters Karly Gibbs and Katherine Simon led the offense with 14 kills and 10 kills each. The Thunder defense was strong with 73 digs in the match, while the Royals only finished with 46. Defensive leaders were Gibbs with 25 and sophomore libero Emily Wilson with 23.
