Women's Soccer Finds Momentum

Manhattan, KS - A 0-2 loss isn't something any team wants to suffer, but for the Women's Soccer team it marked major improvement from the start of the season. The Thunder were limited offensively due to injuries and were forced to reshuffle their lineup during the week. The changes led to a much improved defense and best start of the season from sophomore GK Hailey Culp. Culp was solid with 9 saves and only allowed a goal off of a corner kick at the 12' mark of the first half before pitching a shutout until the 89' minute when EC dropped in a free kick from 25 yards out.

"We were able to do some things defensively and make some adjustments to our formation that helped our team out and I'm looking forward to getting back out to practice with the ladies," commented Coach Maltseva.

The Lady Thunder have a much needed break in the schedule as they will welcome Nebraska Christian College to Manhattan on October 17.
