Men's and Women's Basketball Heading to MCCC Tournament

Manhattan, KS - After wrapping up regular season play over the weekend, both the men's and women's basketball teams are heading to the Midwest Christian College Conference basketball tournaments this weekend in Joplin, Mo on the campus of Ozark Christian College. On the women's side, MCC enters the tournament as the #7 overall seed with a record of 3-18 overall and 1-8 in conference play. They will take on the #2 seeded Lady Warriors from Calvary University at 12:45 pm on Thursday, Feb 20. Calvary enters the tournament with an overall record of 15-9 and 6-2 in conference action. Should the Lady Thunder advance to the tournament semi-finals they would play at 1:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 21 with the championship game being played at 4:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 22. Should the Lady Thunder fall in their first round contest they would play on the consolation side of the bracket at 10:00 am on Friday Feb. 21. 

On the men's side of the bracket, MCC enters play as the #1 overall seed with a record of 15-10 and 8-1 in conference action. They have earned a first round bye and will play at 7:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 21 against the winner of the #4 Faith Baptist and #5 Ozark Christian quarterfinal match. Should the Thunder win their semi-final round they would advance to the championship game at 6:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 22. If MCC falls in their semi-final match they would play for third place on Saturday Feb. 22 at 2:15 pm.
