Men's and Women's Tennis Taking Shape
Manhattan, KS - The following is an update on both the Men's and Women's Tennis programs at MCC from Head Coach Todd Courbot. Coach Courbot is putting together the foundation for the program and MCC couldn't be more excited.
Exciting times are on the horizon for MCC’s new Tennis Programs. Several existing students have agreed to play tennis next season for the Thunder. Players for the women’s program are Katie Alspaw (Freshman), Gentry Mortensen (Freshman), and Greta Hinderliter (Freshman). Each of these young ladies brings a tennis background and experience into the program. I’m very pleased to be building a program around these young ladies. We need six young ladies for a full team and I’m hopeful that that a few more current students and a few incoming students will fill those positions.
On the Men’s side we have three current students joining our team and one incoming freshman. Current students are, Dionne Timkin (Freshman), Shad Walker (Sophomore), and Drew Hill (Junior). Incoming Freshman, Zach Ridgway from Dodge City, KS will be joining the team and brings his high school tennis experience to help us start our Men’s Tennis Program. I'm excited for this group of young men as they will bring a high level of athleticism to us as we start our men’s program. We have some potential recruits that may round out our six spots for the Men’s program, but we’ll continue to look for players within our current student body and incoming students.
If you are interested in supporting the tennis programs or know someone that would be a good fit in for our team I'd love to talk with you and tell you more about the future of Thunder tennis! You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
