Robinson Selected as Cross Country Coach

RJ Robinson has been chosen to be the Cross Country coach at Manhattan Christian College.  RJ grew up in Nebraska and graduated from high school in Beatrice, Nebraska.  He ran Cross Country and track all through high school and competed at state all four years in Cross Country and one year in track.   He ended up running Cross Country and track in college for two years before retiring due to injury. The last two years of college he helped the coaching staff by running workouts or caring for the athletes. RJ has a passion for Cross Country and Track since he began his running career. “I am really excited to join the coaching staff at MCC and get to work with some great student athletes. I have a passion to teach and train athletes to be better than they were when they started the season. I also want athletes to enjoy the sport and to use it as a way to connect to Christ. I am a big supporter of youth competing in these physically and mentally challenging sports,” commented Coach Robinson.

Athletic Director Shawn Condra shared that “RJ will be a great fit for us here at MCC, he has a strong background in Cross Country and he has heart for ministry.  We were very excited that he agreed to lead the squads this fall.”

RJ serves locally as the Youth Director at First United Methodist where he works with 7th grade to 12th grade students.  His final and most amazing job is being a husband and daddy. He and his wife Julie have been married for seven years and last September they added their son, Samuel.  RJ has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sioux Falls in Elementary Education and Theology, and a Master’s degree (Masters of Christian Arts) is from Truett Seminary (Baylor University).
