Thunder Advance to Regional Semifinal

Manhattan, KS - The #2 seeded Thunder Men's Basketball team (17-11, 8-1) advanced to the 2020 NCCAA SW Region Semifinal with a 89-72 victory over rival #7 Ozark Christian College on Wednesday night. Things got off to a very even start as both teams played to a 36-36 tie going into halftime. The second half started out seeing Ozark jump out to a four point lead. MCC answered with a 16-4 run over the next 5 minutes to take a double figure lead with 8 minutes to play. Senior forward, Payton Stephens, had a monster night going for 20 pts and 15 rebounds while freshman guard Jordan White scored 27 points on 5 of 6 shooting from deep. Senior guard, Alex Mitura, came off the bench to provide a lift from deep going 3/3 from down town on his way to 12 points. 

With the victory MCC will advance to the regional semifinal on Friday night at 7:00 pm where they will play host to the #3 seeded Arlington Baptist University Patriots.
