MCC To Build Its First Ever Athletic Facility

Manhattan Christian College has announced plans to build its first Athletic Facility. This new multi-purpose building will become home to Thunder varsity teams, student intramurals, and many other student life activities.  In addition to fielding a court for volleyball and basketball competitions, the facility will also feature a weight room, training room, offices, and storage area.

Since 1947, MCC has rented City facilities for practices, games, and intramurals, but limited availability is causing new pressure on scheduling for all types of student activities.  Unlimited access to this type of multi-purpose facility is critical if the MCC Athletic Programs are to continue moving forward.

This new athletic facility is part of the recently announced Next Generation Campaign, a3-year campaign to fund the current top campus priorities.  give now

The Projects
Three million dollars in cash and commitments is needed to make these campaign goals a reality.

1. An improved first impression.  Today’s students and their parents equate quality with what they see.  Enhancements to the campus courtyard and parking lot will better reflect the value of the education and the personal care students receive at MCC.

2. A Multi-Purpose Gymnasium.  MCC needs a facility large enough to hold its own special events as well as support the athletic program.  More than 52% of the student body participates in a varsity sport or intramurals throughout the year.  A gym on campus will legitimize the student experience on campus as well as provide a place for the college family to come together.

3. Technology and security enhancements.  The teaching tools in the classrooms, the computers in the library, and the implementation of an I.D. card system are required to keep MCC user-friendly and safe.  Wireless access and Internet speed are no longer optional as the 24/7 demands increase with each student’s multiple devices.

Steps to Success
The College Administration and Board of Trustees are united in their vision to make MCC the best she can be and an attractive option for students who want to develop their knowledge of the Bible, improve their leadership skills, and make an impact for Christ around the world.

The Next Generation campaign will require a “team effort” to provide these resources that are so important to prospective students and athletes.  Alumni, parents, and friends of the college are encouraged to get involved and make a gift that will keep Thunder athletics moving forward.

Thank you for your consideration. Each gift is important and cumulative gifts of $1,000 or more will be recognized inside the new multi-purpose gymnasium.
